WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (0-2) put up a valiant effort but succumbed to No. 2 Rollins (2-0), 18-11, Saturday afternoon in the Bulldogs' 2024 home opener at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.
Rollins' Mikey Berkman (Winter Garden, Fla.), a transfer from Syracuse University, totaled 10 points – five goals and five assists – as the Tars rallied from an early 3-0 deficit a few minutes into the contest to take the win.

Bryce Washington (Humble, Texas) finished with a team-high three goals but the Tars outscored the Bulldogs by an 8-1 margin in the decisive third period to take control.
Rollins' Grant Hansen (Medford, N.J.) added four scores for the visitors, who held a 47-34 edge in shots taken and a 32-29 edge in ground balls. Barton senior midfielder

Justin Washington (Humble, Texas) added two goals each but the home team suffered 23 turnovers in the setback.
Rollins' Shahe Katchadurian (Goldens Bridge, N.Y.) earned the victory in goal after stopping nine shots while Barton sophomore goalkeeper
Drew Wheeler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) suffered the loss despite 10 saves.
Barton hits the road to take on Coker in Hartsville, S.C., on Tuesday beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Rollins stays idle until Saturday, February 24, when the Tars host Anderson at 1:00 p.m.
