MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (6-14, 3-9) fell to rival Mount Olive (16-7, 12-2), 3-0, in a Conference Carolinas match on Wednesday evening at Kornegay Arena.
The Trojans won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-16 and swept the season series from Barton.
Mount Olive, who leads the East Division of the conference standings, was spearheaded by Callie Mullins (Broken Arrow, Okla.) with 11 kills while Lyndsay Reid (Thomasville, N.C.) added 24 assists and eight service aces as the home team hit .479 for the contest in the win.
Barton was led by sophomore middle blocker
Ryan Jeremiah (Atlanta, Ga.) with a half a dozen kills and senior libero
Lilly Meyer (Greencastle, Ind.) with seven digs and a pair of assists but the Bulldogs lost their second straight contest.
Barton hosts North Greenville for Senior Night on Friday night in a conference contest beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium while Mount Olive travels to Young Harris, Ga., to take on Young Harris on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
