WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (4-2-2, 1-1-1) tied frontrunner UNC Pembroke (4-2-2, 3-0-2), 1-1, Wednesday evening in a Conference Carolinas showdown at Truist Stadium.

Lexis Goldberg (Sanford, N.C.) scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the 72nd minute to force the one-all tie. Barton junior forward

Felicia Svensson (Molndal, SWEDEN) were both credited with the assist.
UNC Pembroke opened the scoring at the 60:53 mark of the second half when graduate student Anna Grossheim (Garner, N.C.) saw her free kick ricochet into the net.
The Braves held a 24-10 edge in shots taken while Barton senior goalkeeper
Taylor Primack (Lindenhurst, Ill.) was credited with nine saves. UNC Pembroke's goalkeeper, Anna Bass (Edenton, N.C.), made three stops on the evening as well.
Barton remains at home to take on rival Mount Olive in a league contest next Wednesday, October 9, at 4:30 p.m., while UNC Pembroke hosts Young Harris Saturday at Noon in a conference match.
