MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (6-2, 3-2) was shut out by Chowan (4-4-2, 3-2-1) by a 3-0 score Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at the Hawks Athletic Complex.
The Hawks received goals from Robbie Deighan (Bolton, ENGLAND), Junior Smith (Manchester, ENGLAND) and Hlynur Fridriksson (Gardabaer, ICELAND) with Deighan's match-winner coming just 12:30 into the contest. Meanwhile, Smith now has a team-leading seven goals on the year.
Chowan held a 16-6 advantage in shots taken while the Bulldogs were shutout for the first time this year.

Barton hosts Lees-McRae in a Conference Carolinas make-up contest on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex while Chowan faces Francis Marion in Florence, S.C., on Wednesday night starting at 7:00 p.m.
