WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (7-11, 4-4) rolled to a 96-83 win over King (3-12, 0-7) Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas game at Wilson Gymnasium.

Donaven Hairston (Atlanta, Ga.) finished with a team-high 23 points and was one of four Bulldogs to reach double figures as the home team snapped a three-game losing streak.

Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) added 19 points, seven assists and seven rebounds as the Bulldogs hit 10 three-pointers on the afternoon and shot 52 percent (33-of-63) from the floor in the victory. Senior guard
Jett Fortuny (Cary, N.C.) hit four of those treys and totaled 17 points on the day.
Barton led by as many as 22 points on three occasions in the second half and held a 43-32 edge on the boards in the triumph.
King was led by Mikhail Pocknett (Wilmington, N.C.) with a double-double – a game-high 27 points and 11 rebounds – as four players on the visitors' squad also reached double figures in the contest. The Tornado, however, remained winless in league play.
Barton remains at home to take on rival Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas clash on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m., at Wilson Gymnasium while King visits Central, S.C., to face Southern Wesleyan on Monday in a make-up contest starting at 7:00 p.m.
