WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's basketball team (8-11, 5-4) put together an impressive 96-68 victory over rival Mount Olive (4-14, 3-5) Wednesday evening in a Conference Carolinas game at Wilson Gymnasium.

Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) had an outstanding all-around game with a contest-high 27 points to go along with seven assists, six rebounds and six steals as the Bulldogs scored the first 12 points of the game and never looked back in the dominant win.

Donaven Hairston (Atlanta, Ga.) added 21 points for the Bulldogs, who shot 56 percent (36-of-64) from the floor, forced Mount Olive into 19 turnovers and limited the Trojans to just four-of-21 shooting (19 percent) from the three-point line in the triumph.
Mount Olive's Josiah Watkins (Greensboro, N.C.) came off the bench to score a team-high 23 points but the Trojans shot just 34 percent (22-of-63) from the floor in the setback.
In the next round of Conference Carolinas contests on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., Barton hosts Lees-McRae at Wilson Gymnasium while Mount Olive plays King in Bristol, Tenn.
