DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Barton College Football Team (2-0) remained perfect on the year with a 33-31 win over Davidson (0-2) Friday night at Richardson Stadium. The Wildcats are a member of NCAA Division I and FCS (Football Championship Series).

Jaquan Lynch (Rocky Mount, N.C.) and junior running back
Jordan Terrell (Ramseur, N.C.) each rushed for a pair of touchdowns while Lynch added a touchdown through the air as the Bulldogs rallied from a 21-7 deficit after one quarter of play to take the victory.
Terrell scored from 13 yards out with 5:57 left in the contest which proved to be the game-winner. The score capped a 10-play, 83-yard drive. Terrell also crossed the 4,000-yard mark on the ground for his career after a 22-carry, 140-yard performance tonight.
The game was moved up one day due to the threat of severe weather on Saturday.
Davidson jumped out to a 21-7 lead after one quarter of play thanks to touchdowns on its first three possessions capped off by a six-yard scoring run from Mason Sheron (Leo, Ind.) with 1:06 remaining in the opening stanza. Sheron rushed for two scores and the Wildcats finished with 331 yards on the ground despite the loss.
Barton, however, responded with four consecutive touchdowns to take a 27-21 advantage into intermission finished off by a three-yard touchdown run by Terrell at the 1:24 mark of the second quarter. Lynch, who passed for 285 yards, totaled three scores for the second consecutive game. Lynch's top wideout was junior
Jacquez Durham (Clayton, N.C.), who hauled in four catches for 141 yards.

Keno Jones (Rocky Mount, N.C.) and junior defensive back
Dereck Barringer (Rockingham, N.C.) both totaled 12 tackles while graduate student defensive back
Kermit Solomon (Albany, Ga.) sealed the game with an interception on the Wildcats' final drive.
Barton opens South Atlantic Conference play next Saturday, September 16, against UVA Wise at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium beginning at 4:00 p.m. Davidson travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to take on Marist next Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
