WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (2-0) stayed perfect on the season with a 3-0 sweep of Virginia Union (2-1) Tuesday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs defeated the Panthers by scores of 25-8, 25-14 and 26-24 and swept their second straight opponent.
Barton held Virginia Union to -0.030 hitting percentage while senior outside hitter
Allison Gambill (Hickory, N.C.) totaled a team-high eight kills and was one of nine Bulldogs with a least one kill on the evening.

Madison Greene (Angier, N.C.) added 12 assists and junior outside hitter
Henly Sleight (Jackson, Mich.) chipped in with a half-dozen kills as a total of 21 Bulldogs saw the floor tonight. Barton hit .333 for the match as well.
Alana Simmons (Baltimore, Md.) led the visitors with eight kills but Virginia Union suffered its first loss of the year.
Barton next hosts UVA Wise (11:00 a.m.) and Virginia State (3:00 p.m.) in a tri-meet on Sunday while Virginia Union takes on Goldey-Beacom (Noon) and Pace (2:00 p.m.) in Wilmington, Del., on Saturday afternoon.
