WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-9, 1-5) picked up its first Conference Carolinas victory of the season with a 3-0 triumph over Southern Wesleyan (1-12, 0-7) Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs, who snapped a five-game losing streak, won over the Trojans by scores of 26-24, 25-20 and 25-22.

Allison Gambill (Hickory, N.C.) totaled 12 kills and 12 digs for her seventh double-double of the year while junior outside hitter
Lauryn Pitt (Greenville, N.C.) also notched double figures in kills with 10 to lead the Bulldogs to the victory.

Madison Greene (Angier, N.C.) added 19 and 18 assists, respectively, as the Bulldogs limited the Warriors to just a .153 hitting percentage. Southern Wesleyan, losers of 11 straight matches, was paced by Michaela Andress (Spartanburg, S.C.) with a match-high 14 kills.
Barton travels to Banner Elk, N.C., to take on Lees-McRae on Friday in a league match beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Southern Wesleyan faces UVA Wise on Wednesday, October 4, at 6:00 p.m., in Wise, Va.
