WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (4-9, 0-5) fell to first-place North Greenville (13-3, 5-0) by a 3-0 score Friday evening in a Conference Carolinas match at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Crusaders, winners of nine straight matches, defeated the Bulldogs by scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 25-17.
North Greenville was led by Abigail Durham (Easley, S.C.) with a match-high 12 kills while Ashlyn Conner (Dothan, Ala.) added 39 assists and seven digs as the Crusaders hit .300 for the contest in the win.
Barton was led by senior outside hitter
Allison Gambill (Hickory, N.C.) with nine kills and eight digs and neared a double-double while junior
Lily Haaga (Herriman, Utah) totaled seven kills in the losing effort.
The Bulldogs, still searching for their first league win of the year, was limited to a .189 hitting percentage.
Barton remains at home to take on Southern Wesleyan Saturday at 2:00 p.m., in a league match while North Greenville faces Chowan in Murfreesboro, N.C., on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., as well.
