WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (3-5-1) scored all four goals in the second half to rally past North Carolina Wesleyan (2-5-2), 4-2, Wednesday evening at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.

Gabriel Slemer Lopes (Sao Paulo, BRAZIL) scored the match-winner on a penalty kick at the 51:56 mark of the second half and added a pair of assists as the Bulldogs rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit for the victory.
The Bulldogs scored three goals in the first seven minutes after intermission to take complete control. Slemer assisted on a corner kick when sophomore midfielder
Jacob Gompers (Richmond, Va.) found the back of the net in the box to cut the margin to one just 90 seconds after intermission.

Peer Brendler (Gifhorn, GERMANY) also scored right in front of the net on a long free kick from graduate student midfielder
Nico Rocksien (Jersbek, GERMANY) – who was credited with the assist – just one minute before Slemer's game-winner.

Immanuel Akpeme (Richmond, Va.) rounded out the scoring with a shot in the box off a saved penalty kick from Slemer in the 70th minute. All four players registered their first goals of the year.
Barton held a 21-2 edge in shots taken while Tiago Feler (Devoto, Fla.) and Orri Bjornsson (Kopavogur, ICELAND) scored for North Carolina Wesleyan. Barton freshman
Dalton Houser (Lakeland, Fla.) earned the win in goal while the Battling Bishops' goalkeeper, Facundo Boismoreau (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA), suffered the loss.
Barton jumps back into Conference Carolinas play on Saturday when the Bulldogs host King beginning at 3:00 p.m., at Truist Stadium as part of Senior Day while North Carolina Wesleyan hosts Pfeiffer Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
