MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (0-1-2, 0-0-1) tied rival Mount Olive (0-1-3, 0-0-1), 1-1, in the Conference Carolinas opener Saturday afternoon at Amon Field.

Kassie Krul (Rockport, Maine) at the 58:54 mark of the second half and Mount Olive's Tianna Hill (Durham, N.C.) in the 75th minute – and the Bulldogs were able to tie the contest despite the Trojans' 22-7 advantage in shots taken.

Cara Davis (Angier, N.C.) made eight saves for the visitors while Mount Olive's Nicole Solicito (Stony Point, N.Y.) tallied a pair of saves for the home squad.
The goal was the Bulldogs' first of the season.
Barton faces Chowan on the road on Tuesday, September 19, at 4:00 p.m., in Murfreesboro, N.C., in a league contest while Mount Olive hosts Francis Marion Tuesday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
