WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (5-18) suffered a 3-0 loss to Lincoln Memorial (20-4) Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Railsplitters won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-10, 25-17 and 25-19 while running their winning streak to 17 matches.
Lincoln Memorial, which hit .383 for the contest, was led by Cole Campisano (Louisville, Ky.) with a match-high 11 kills while Kohl Kutsch (Torrance, Calif.) added 32 assists, four kills and four digs as the Railsplitters defeated the Bulldogs for the second time this season.
Barton was led by junior outside hitter
John Coffey (Plain City, Ohio) and sophomore middle blocker
Benjamin Wiechert (Suffolk, Va.) with seven kills each
Meanwhile, sophomore setter
Seth Deppe (Mukwonago, Wisc.) finished with 22 assists and five digs as the Bulldogs saw their two-match winning streak snapped. The Railsplitters also limited the Bulldogs to just a .024 hitting percentage for the contest.
Barton hosts rival Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas match for Senior Day on Thursday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Lincoln Memorial next competes in the Independent Volleyball Association Tournament on Friday in Charlotte, N.C.
