WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (5-19, 4-10) ended the 2023 regular season with a 3-0 setback to rival Mount Olive (11-16, 6-8) Thursday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Trojans won over the Bulldogs by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 30-28 and swept the season series from Barton.
Mount Olive was led by Justin Gregory (West Palm Beach, Fla.) with 13 kills, six digs and three service aces while Tate Sandvig (Boone, Iowa) added 10 kills as the Trojans won their second straight contest. The Trojans were also able to overcome 18 service errors in the victory.
Barton was paced by sophomore right side hitter
Jake Adams (Clermont, Fla.) with 13 kills as well while senior setter
Moses Kresch (Hershey, Pa.) totaled 29 assists, eight digs and five blocks in the losing effort.
Mount Olive next competes in the 2023 Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship which begins with the Quarterfinal Round on Tuesday, April 18, at the higher seeds. The Bulldogs also honored their three Seniors just prior to the contest: Kresch, outside hitter

Bryan Medellin (Miami, Fla.).
