HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Barton College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the VertKlasse Meeting on the campus of High Point University on Saturday.
Barton senior
Deshawn Owens (Pikeville, N.C.) was the top performer for the Bulldogs with his 12th-place finish in the men's 800-meter run (1:59.66) and 17th-place finish in the men's 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:12.29, a new school record.
The Bulldogs also had a pair of 24th-place finishes in junior
Ronnie Robinson (Columbia, S.C.) and sophomore
Justin Copper (High Point, N.C.) in the men's 110-meter hurdles (16.18) and men's 400-meter dash (51.90), respectively.
On the women's side, Barton freshman
Aniya Heckstall (Greensboro, N.C.) had the top finish for the Bulldogs: 17th-place in the 100-meter dash (12.50). In addition, Barton junior
Indira Rauf (Washington, D.C.) took 26th place in the both the women's 100-meter (12.59) and 200-meter (26.21) dashes.
The Barton outdoor track and field teams next compete at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday, April 8, at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track on the campus of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C.
