DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Barton men's and women's triathlon teams made their program debut on Sunday at the Lake Davidson Sprint Triathlon.
In the team results, Barton finished sixth overall with 74 points while Wingate prevailed with 207 total points.
On the men's side, the top competitor for the Bulldogs was freshman
Blake Stillman (Georgetown, Del.). Stillman took 49
th overall with a time of 1:17:33.14. Wingate's Isaac Lamprecht (Fairfield, Pa.) was the top individual (52:28.22).
In the women's competition, freshman
Laia Fernandez Matas (Barcelona, SPAIN) led the Bulldogs with a 24th-place finish with a time of 1:09:42.78.
Wingate's Vanda Krížková (Starý Jicín, CZECH REPUBLIC) won the individual title, thanks to her time of 58:05.4.
The Barton triathlon teams will be back in action this Sunday, September 20, at the Cup Race Robious Landing in Midlothian, Va.
