FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Barton baseball team (17-12, 10-6) opened a Conference Carolinas weekend series with a 12-7 triumph over Emmanuel (Ga.) (18-14, 8-8) Friday afternoon at Tom Carrey Field.

Jared Beebe (Atco, N.J.) each drove in three runs as the Bulldogs rallied from a 7-5 deficit after six innings of play to take the win.
The Bulldogs took the lead for good thanks to a five-run eighth inning highlighted by the game-winning RBI single from junior outfielder
Carelle Gonzalez (Bridgeton, N.J.). Junior designated hitter
Tanner Halvorson (Eau Claire, Wisc.) added four runs scored and three hits for the Bulldogs, who improved to 9-1 in their last 10 league contests.
Barton senior
Brett Widerman (Wilmington, N.C.) improved to 2-3 on the season after holding the Lions scoreless over three and two-third innings of work to go along with four strikeouts in relief.
Emmanuel's Clifford Brown (Hemet, Ga.) (2-1) was tagged with the loss while Johnathan Manibusan (Columbus, Ga.) finished with two hits and three runs batted in despite the setback.
Barton and Emmanuel wrap up the league weekend series with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
