WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (6-4, 1-0) opened Conference Carolinas play with a 14-4 victory over Emmanuel (1-7, 0-1) Saturday afternoon at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

Nick Nelson (Wilmington, N.C.) finished with a match-high three goals while graduate student attacker
Mark Crawford (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) totaled five points – a pair of goals and three assists – as the Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak.
Crawford was one of four players to score two goals for the Bulldogs, who jumped out to a 9-1 advantage in the second quarter and never looked back. Barton senior attacker
Mason Chaney (Dunkirk, Md.) scored twice and dished out two assists to increase his team-leads in goals (29) and total points (41) this year.
Barton held advantages in both ground balls (32-27) and shots taken (44-37) while freshman goalkeeper
Drew Wheeler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) earned the win after playing the first half and making seven saves.
Emmanuel's Luke Hildebrandt (Didsbury, Alberta, CANADA) finished with a goal and an assist but Matt Pesek (Friendswood, Texas) suffered the loss in goal despite 18 saves on the day.
Barton remains at home to take on Belmont Abbey in a league showdown next Saturday, March 25, at 1:00 p.m., while Emmanuel hosts Young Harris Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
