WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (14-10, 9-6) was able to hold off Erskine (15-11, 5-9), 13-10, in the third and final game of a Conference Carolinas weekend series Saturday afternoon at Nixon Field.

Tanner Halvorson (Eau Claire, Wisc.) hit his team-tying fourth home run of the season and drove in a game-high four runs as the Bulldogs were able to recover from a 21-9 setback to the Flying Fleet in the weekend's first contest on Friday to take two straight games.
After Erskine's Dalton Boyd (Winter Haven, Fla.) hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give the visitors a 10-9 advantage, Barton responded with three runs in its half of the frame to take the lead for good. Barton sophomore shortstop
Jared Beebe (Atco, N.J.) drove in the game-winning run while sophomore catcher
Chase Waddell (Lucama, N.C.) added three RBI in the victory.

Brett Anderson (Milford, N.H.) (2-0) was credited with the win in relief while Johnny Hummel (Matthews, N.C.) (1-2) took the setback.
Barton steps out of league play and will travel to Salisbury, N.C., to take on Catawba Wednesday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Erskine hosts Chowan on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
