WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (1-1) fell to No. 25 Saint Leo (1-0) Thursday afternoon in its 2023 home opener at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
The Lions' Fiona McLaughlin (Marietta, Ga.) finished with four goals while Ashlee Wilsynski (Baltimore, Md.) added three scores as Saint Leo rolled to an 8-1 advantage after one period of play and never looked back in the victory.

Annabelle Chuilli (Cornelius, N.C.) led the home team with three goals as the Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the year.
Saint Leo held a decisive edge in shots taken (36-11) and forced Barton into 22 turnovers in the win.

Savannah Graves (Calvert County, Md.) suffered the loss for the Bulldogs despite 13 first-half stops.
Barton looks to bounce back on Saturday, February 18, when the Bulldogs host Shepherd beginning at Noon while Saint Leo faces Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C., starting at 3:00 p.m., on Friday afternoon.
