WILSON, N.C. – The Millersville (Pa.) Baseball Team (2-0), ranked No. 19 in NCAA Division II, downed Barton (0-2) by a 9-3 score Sunday morning at Nixon Field. The game was supposed to be the first of a doubleheader but the second contest was called off due to rain.
The Marauders' Bren Taylor (Hallam, Pa.) drove in a pair of runs while Justin Taylor (Williamsport, Pa.) scored the game-winner in the fifth inning on a throwing error by a Bulldogs' pitcher as Millersville defeated Barton for the second time in as many days to start the season.
Millersville's Carson Kulina (Hummelstown, Pa.) (1-0) pitched four and one-third innings of scoreless relief while striking out six batters in earning the win.
Barton freshman shortstop
Ty Garza (Grosse Ile, Mich.) hit a solo home run – his second straight day with a round-tripper – and finished with a pair of hits in the setback. Barton sophomore
