WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (2-3) fell to Newberry (3-2) by a 12-9 score on Saturday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
Newberry's Emma Jobs (Sherwood Park, Alberta, CANADA) finished with a team-high three goals to go along with an assist as the Wolves broke a three-all tie with five straight goals in the second stanza to take control and held the advantage the rest of the way.

Avery Woodcock (Wilmington, N.C.) scored a match-high four times while sophomore midfielder
Annabelle Chuilli (Cornelius, N.C.) added two goals but the Bulldogs couldn't get within two goals the rest of the way. Woodcock has a team-leading 10 goals on the season.
The shots were deadlocked at 27 while Newberry held a 25-20 edge in ground balls. In goal, Newberry's Mackenzie Dorr (Riverhead, N.Y.) stopped 10 shots to earn the victory while Barton sophomore
Savannah Graves (Calvert County, Md.) suffered the loss despite eight first-half saves.
Barton next hosts Tiffin (Ohio) on Thursday beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Newberry hosts Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, March 4, at 1:00 p.m.
