SALISBURY, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (2-2) snapped a two-match losing streak with a 12-10 triumph over Catawba (1-2) Wednesday afternoon at Shuford Stadium.
Barton junior attacker
Sydney Quinn (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) scored a match-high three goals while a trio of Bulldogs – freshman midfielder
Danielle Lester (Savannah, Ga.), sophomore midfielder
Annabelle Chuilli (Cornelius, N.C.) and sophomore attacker
Avery Woodcock (Wilmington, N.C.) – all scored twice as the visitors scored the final three goals to take the win.
Junior attacker
MacKenzie Camp (Rochester, N.Y.) broke a 10-all tie with the game-winner with 5:22 left in the contest while the Bulldogs held advantages in both shots taken (34-23) and ground balls (31-22) in the victory.
Catawba, which rallied from a 9-6 deficit to take the short-lived lead, was paced by Ella McCusker (Warwick, R.I.) with a match-high four goals in the losing effort. In goal, Barton sophomore goalkeeper
Savannah Graves (Calvert County, Md.) earned the win after stopping eight shots while Catawba's Evie Kauserud (Apex, N.C.) made 12 saves but suffered the loss.
Barton returns home to take on Newberry Saturday at Noon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium while Catawba hosts Alabama-Huntsville Sunday beginning at Noon as well.
