HAMPDEN SYDNEY, Va. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (3-1) won its third straight game with a 15-8 triumph over Davis & Elkins (1-3) Tuesday afternoon on the campus of Hampden-Sydney College.

Mason Chaney (Dunkirk, Md.) scored four times while sophomore attacker
Sam Lord (Wilmington, N.C.) added three goals – all in the fourth period – as the Bulldogs held off a mini-rally by the Senators to take the victory. Chaney leads the squad with 14 goals on the year and is the team's all-time leading goal scorer with 123.
After Davis & Elkins ended the third quarter with four straight goals to cut the margin to 12-7, Lord responded with a hat trick in the final stanza to put the contest out of reach.
Barton held advantages in both shots taken (45-28) and ground balls (35-23) while freshman
Drew Wheeler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) stopped six shots in goal while playing the first half in the victory. For Davis & Elkins, Tyler Kolodka (Beamsville, Ontario, CANADA) scored four goals but goalkeeper Josh Csanyi (Laurinburg, N.C.) suffered the loss despite 15 saves on the afternoon.
Barton remains on the road to take on Coker on Saturday in Hartsville, S.C., beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Davis & Elkins hosts Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
