WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (2-1) earned a 9-5 victory over Mars Hill (1-3) Saturday afternoon at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

Mark Crawford (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) finished with three goals as the home team moved back over .500 on the season. Barton freshman attacker
Nick Nelson (Wilmington, N.C.) also scored twice as the Bulldogs broke a one-all tie with five straight goals to take control.
Mars Hill's Trevor Kennedy (Coburg, Ontario, CANADA) scored two goals as the Lions cut the margin to 6-4 but couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.
The Bulldogs held a 40-33 edge in shots taken while both teams had 43 ground balls on the afternoon. Barton junior midfielder
Logan Wheeler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) assisted on three goals while freshman goalkeeper
Drew Wheeler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) racked up 15 saves to earn the win. Mars Hill's Steven Smith (Raleigh, N.C.) made 13 stops in goal but suffered the setback.
Barton hits the road to take on Davis & Elkins in Hampden Sydney, Va., on Tuesday beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Mars Hill travels to Young Harris, Ga., to face Young Harris next Saturday, February 25, at 1:00 p.m.
