WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (1-1) picked up its first victory of the season, 21-12, over Young Harris (0-3) Saturday afternoon at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.

Mason Chaney (Dunkirk, Md.) finished with a game-high seven goals while sophomore attacker
Nic Lord (Wilmington, N.C.) added three scores as the Bulldogs broke a two-all tie midway through the first period with five straight goals to take control of the contest.
Young Harris, who is still searching for its first victory of the year, was paced by Gunnar Fagerstrom (Canton, Ga.) with four goals in the losing effort.
Chaney has a program-leading 118 goals in his collegiate career while freshman goalkeeper
Drew Wheeler (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) earned the victory after playing into the second half and making three saves. Young Harris' Dylan Wilbur (Dallas, Ga.) suffered the loss in goal despite 10 stops. Barton held a 47-31 advantage in shots taken and a 50-42 edge in ground balls.
Barton remains at home to take on Mars Hill next Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m., while Young Harris travels to Anderson, S.C., to take on Anderson next Saturday, February 18, at 1:00 p.m.
