MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Barton men's basketball team (5-7) fell to Lynn (6-2), 91-72, Tuesday on the final day of Florida Tech's Health Winter Classic at the Charles and Ruth Clemente Center.
The Fighting Knights were led by Tradavis Thompson (Raymond, Miss.) with a game-high 26 points while Nordin Kapic (Vienna, AUSTRIA) added 22 points as Lynn jumped out to a 51-39 halftime advantage and never looked back as Lynn bounced back from a one-point setback to Georgia Southwestern the day before to take the win.
Barton, which lost both games in the round-robin doubleheader, was paced by senior forward
Jarrian Hancock (Sanford, N.C.) with 12 points while junior guard
Trey Crews (Durham, N.C.) came off the bench to tally 11 points in the setback.
Thompson finished 12-of-18 from the field and the Fighting Knights shot 55 percent (34-of-62) for the game.
Barton, meanwhile, hit just four-of-24 attempts from three-point land in the setback. Barton senior guard
Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) also scored in double figures for the Bulldogs, totaling 10 points on the afternoon.
Barton returns to Conference Carolinas play on Wednesday, January 3, when the Bulldogs host Chowan at Wilson Gymnasium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Lynn hosts Tampa in a Sunshine State Conference game on Saturday, December 30, at 4:00 p.m.
