Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Barton men’s basketball comes up short on the road to Florida Tech, 65-56

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Barton men's basketball team (5-6) saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with a 65-56 loss to Florida Tech (8-1) Monday afternoon in Florida Tech's Health First Winter Classic inside the Charles and Ruth Clemente Center.

The Panthers' David McCullough (Bowie, Md.) led all scorers with 17 points and was one of four players to reach double figures for Florida Tech, who powered its way to victory thanks to its performance at the free throw line.  The Panthers finished 30-of-42 from the charity stripe.

Barton senior guard Reese McDonald (Raleigh, N.C.) led the visitors with 11 points but was the lone player to score in double figures for the Bulldogs.  McDonald added four rebounds, four assists and two steals but the Bulldogs hit just two-of-16 from three-point land.

The Bulldogs held a 30-26 advantage at halftime but couldn't hold the lead.  Barton freshman forward Sean Quick-Streeter (Columbia, S.C.) added nine points and seven boards in the losing effort as well.  Barton finished with 10 blocked shots but was hurt by 18 turnovers.

On the final day of the Classic on Tuesday, Barton takes on Lynn at 4:00 p.m., while Florida Tech hosts Georgia Southwestern beginning at 7:30 p.m.
