HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Barton women's basketball team (0-4) came up short to Coker (3-1), 86-74, Saturday afternoon at The DeLoach Center.
The Cobras, winners of three straight games, were led by Mya Wasswa (Columbia, S.C.) with a game-high 23 points while Kamari Thompson (Greenville, S.C.) added a double-double – 16 points and 19 rebounds – as Coker forced Barton into 26 turnovers in the victory.

Lauren Mingo (Clinton, Md.), who came off the bench to score a team-high 20 points and was one of four players to reach double figures for the visitors despite the loss.

Nyla Powell (Rocky Mount, N.C.) neared a double-double – 13 points and nine rebounds – in the setback.
Coker jumped out to a 47-28 advantage at halftime and never looked back in the victory. The Cobras held a 37-29 edge on the boards and also powered their way to victory with their performance from the charity stripe: 26-of-38 (68 percent).
Barton remains on the road to take on Fayetteville State on Monday evening beginning at 5:30 p.m., in Fayetteville, N.C., while Coker remains at home to face Converse Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
