BELMONT, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (5-5-2, 3-3-1) scored with 28 seconds left to stun Belmont Abbey (5-4-1, 3-2), 2-1, Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at Alumni Field.
Barton sophomore forward
Tommy Migliarotti (Milan, ITALY) found the back of the net at the 89:32 mark of the second half when he shot past the keeper and into the right post for the goal. The Bulldogs trailed by a 1-0 score most of the contest but scored twice in the final seven minutes to steal the win.

Steingrimur Gunnarsson (Grenivik, ICELAND) – was Migliarotti's team-tying fourth goal of the season. Barton graduate student forward
Peer Brendler (Gifhorn, GERMANY) tied the contest at one in the 84th minute.

Belmont Abbey opened the scoring just 75 seconds into the contest courtesy of Felipe Baptista (Pembroke Pines, Fla.). The Bulldogs held a 14-12 edge in shots taken while Gunnarsson earned the win after stopping a pair of shots. Belmont Abbey's goalkeeper, Will Whitman (Greensboro, N.C.), was tagged with the loss despite six saves on the afternoon.
Barton returns home to take on Chowan in a league contest Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at Truist Stadium while Belmont Abbey hosts Erskine Monday at 7:00 p.m.
