BELMONT, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-13, 1-8) fell to Belmont Abbey (3-14, 3-6) by a 3-1 score Friday evening in a Conference Carolinas match at the Wheeler Center.
The Crusaders prevailed over the Bulldogs by scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-23 and 25-17 and sent Barton to its fourth straight setback.
Belmont Abbey was led by Tyler Case (Etowah, N.C.) with a match-high 15 kills while Lola Sultenfuss (Hendersonville, N.C.) added a dozen kills and Ella Schellenberg (Jacksonville, N.C.) notched a double-double – 40 assists and 12 digs – in the victory.
The Crusaders also overcame 16 service errors in the triumph.

Henly Sleight (Jackson, Mich.) finished with a team-high 10 kills to go along with 14 digs for a double-double and junior right side hitter
Lily Haaga (Herriman, Utah) totaled nine kills in the setback.
Barton remains on the road to take on Converse in a league contest on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., in Spartanburg, S.C., while Belmont Abbey hosts Chowan Saturday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m., as well.
