GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The No. 23 Barton men's golf team finished an 11th-place tie at the Mizuno Intercollegiate Tuesday with the third and final round at the Chattahoochee Golf Club. The University of North Georgia served as the host institution.
Barton totaled an 885 (+21) on the par-72, 7,166-yard course after three rounds and 54 holes while Anderson held off seventh-ranked West Florida by two strokes. The Trojans shot an 18-under 846.
Barton was led by junior
Harrison Wierse (Wilmington, N.C.) and freshman
Cameron Hardison (Greenville, N.C.). Wierse carded a 219 (+3) to tie for 26th overall while Hardison tied for 29th thanks to four-over 220 over the two-day tournament. Anderson's Calahan Keever (Greenville, S.C.) and West Florida's Elias Haavisto (Kotka, FINLAND) tied for first overall with a 10-under 206.
The Barton men's golf competes in the Ironwood Intercollegiate Classic in Greenville, N.C., hosted by East Carolina University, on Monday, October 3, and Tuesday, October 4, at the Ironwood Golf & Country Club.
