WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (3-4, 2-1) scored the final three goals of the match to break the contest open with a 6-2 Conferenc Carolinas victory over Southern Wesleyan (1-5-1, 0-3-1) Saturday afternoon at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.

Peer Brendler (Gifhorn, GERMANY) both scored twice in the second half as the Bulldogs won their second straight contest.

Tommaso Migliarotti (Milan, ITALY) opened the scoring at the 11:21 mark of the first half with a goal on a long lob pass from senior midfielder
Nico Rocksien (Jersbek, GERMANY) that measured over half the field which proved to be the game-winner. Rocksien was credited with the assist as the Bulldogs scored six times in a match for the second time this season.

Blake Grove (Newstead, AUSTRALIA) added a penalty kick in the first half for his second score of the season while freshman goalkeeper
Steingrimur Gunnarsson (Grenivik, ICELAND) earned the victory after stopping four shots. Barton also held a 21-7 edge in shots over Southern Wesleyan.
For the Warriors, Pedro Fonseca (Richmond Hill, Ga.) and Hykeem Martin (Greenwood, S.C.) scored for the visitors while Wesley Bigbee (Easley, S.C.) suffered the loss in goal.
Barton next faces Erskine on Saturday, September 24, at 4:30 p.m., in Due West, S.C., in a Conference Carolinas contest while Southern Wesleyan plays Converse on the road on Wednesday starting at 7:00 p.m.
