WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (1-3, 1-1) suffered a 2-1 loss in its 2022 home opener Tuesday afternoon to Belmont Abbey (1-3-2, 1-1-1) in Conference Carolinas action at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.
The Crusaders' received goals from Logan Parry (Greensboro, N.C.) and Goose Andrews (Valencia, Calif.) as the visitors picked up their first win of the year.
Parry opened the scoring at the 17:22 mark of the first half after heading in her own saved shot in the box while Andrews produced the match-winner in the 52nd minute after taking a pass from Anna Richard (Carthage, N.C.) in the box, who was credited with the assist.

Kassie Krul (Rockport, Maine) scored for the second time in as many matches with a penalty kick goal at the 28:16 mark of the first half but the Bulldogs were kept off the scoreboard the rest of the way.
Belmont Abbey held a 17-14 edge in shots taken while Brianna Sroka (Raleigh, N.C.) earned the win in goal after stopping a pair of shots. Barton senior goalkeeper
Rachel Cox (Wilson, N.C.) suffered the loss despite seven saves.
Barton remains at home to take on Southern Wesleyan in a Conference Carolinas game on Saturday afternoon beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Belmont Abbey takes on Shaw in Raleigh, N.C., on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
