WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (0-17, 0-12) suffered a 3-1 setback to Emmanuel (12-12, 6-6) on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Wilson Gymnasium in a Conference Carolinas match.
The Lions defeated the Bulldogs by scores of 25-13, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-16 and took the season series from Barton.
Emmanuel was led by Gustavo Cavalcanti (Lisbon, PORTUGAL) with a match-high 20 kills while Eli Zdonek (Greenville, S.C.) added 15 kills in the victory. The Lions' Henrik Westhoff (Bocholt, GERMANY) totaled 45 assists for the visitors as well.

Benjamin Wiechert (Suffolk, Va.) finished with 12 kills and freshman outside hitter
Oscar Familia (Miami, Fla.) totaled 10 kills in the losing effort. The Bulldogs were limited to a .188 hitting percentage and totaled 15 service errors in the setback.
Barton looks to pick up its first win of the year when the Bulldogs travel to Bristol, Tenn., to take on King in a league match on Friday beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Emmanuel hosts Erskine Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
