WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's lacrosse team (4-3) made quick work of Davis & Elkins (1-2), 20-8, Wednesday evening in an NCAA Division II match at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

Mason Chaney (Dunkirk, Md.) scored a game-high six goals while sophomore attacker
Matt Calleri (Holly Springs, N.C.) added five scores in the win. Calleri now has a team-leading 19 goals on the season.
The Bulldogs held a 9-6 advantage at the 10:28 mark of the third period then broke the contest open with six straight goals. Junior midfielder
Mark Crawford (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) added a pair of goals and four assists for Barton, who held decisive advantages in both shots taken (63-28) and ground balls (57-22).
Austin Derx (Lancaster, N.Y.) added three goals for the Senators in the losing effort. Davis & Elkins was tied with Barton at two-all midway through the first period but the Bulldogs responded with three straight goals and never looked back.

Nathan Metcalf (Oxford, N.C.) earned the win after making his first start of the season. Metcalf played 45 minutes and stopped three shots while Joshua Csanyi (Laurinburg, N.C.) suffered the loss despite 10 saves on the night.
Barton hits the road to take on Lander this Saturday in Greenwood, S.C., at 1:00 p.m., while Davis & Elkins faces Chowan in Murfreesboro, N.C., on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., as well.
