WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's lacrosse team (5-5) saw its four-game winning streak come to an end with a 12-7 setback to Frostburg State (Maryland) (1-5) Thursday night at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.
The Bobcats' were led by Stephanie King (Edgewater, Md.) with four goals as the visitors picked up their first win of the season. Frostburg State jumped out to a 3-0 advantage after one period of play including two scores by King on free position shots and never looked back.
Barton was led by sophomore attacker
Sydney Quinn (Fuquay-Varina, N.C.) with a pair of goals and now has a team-leading 28 scores on the year while junior attacker
Chloe Butts (Medina, Ohio) added a goal and an assist in the losing effort.
In goal, Frostburg State's Nicole Gray (Huntingtown, Md.) made seven saves to pick up the win while freshman goalkeeper
Savannah Graves (Chesapeake Beach, Md.) suffered the loss despite four saves on the night for the Bulldogs.
Barton looks to bounce back on Senior Day on Saturday when the Bulldogs host Converse in a Conference Carolinas match beginning at 4:00 p.m., while Frostburg State takes on Notre Dame (Ohio) on Saturday, April 2, at 4:00 p.m., in South Euclid, Ohio.
