WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (0-9) came up short to Queens (9-7), 3-1, Wednesday evening in an NCAA Division II match at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Royals won by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-16 and 25-21 and pushed their winning streak to three matches.
Queens was led by Ananias Hayes (Dallas, Texas) with 19 kills while Jack Brinkman (Powell, Ohio) added 14 kills and a match-high 22 digs as the Royals totaled 12 blocks as a team in defeating Barton for the second time this season.
Barton was led by sophomore outside hitter
Brandon Johnston (Hawkes Bay, NEW ZEALAND) with 19 kills as well in addition to 14 digs and senior setter
Moses Kresch (Hershey, Pa.) added 25 assists and nine digs despite the loss. The Bulldogs hit just .116 for the match in the setback.
Barton remains at home to take on Tusculum at Wilson Gymnasium Friday night beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Queens hosts King (Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
