WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's volleyball team (0-8, 0-5) fell to King (5-9, 4-2) by a 3-0 score Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas match at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Tornado defeated the Bulldogs by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-21 to snap a two-match losing streak.
King was led by Diego Marcano (San Juan, PUERTO RICO) with a match-high 12 kills while Jack Sarnowski (Winter Springs, Fla.) added 32 assists in the victory. The Tornado hit .274 for the match compared to the Bulldogs' .052 hitting percentage.
Barton was paced by sophomore outside hitter
Brandon Johnston (Hawkes Bay, NEW ZEALAND) with nine kills and senior setter
Moses Kresch (Hershey, Pa.) added 16 assists in the losing effort.
Barton looks to bounce back on Wednesday when the Bulldogs host Queens at 6:00 p.m., while King returns home to face Belmont Abbey on Wednesday in league action beginning at 7:00 p.m.
