WILSON, N.C. – The Barton baseball team (8-3, 3-0) rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Chowan (4-7, 0-3), 5-4, Sunday afternoon to complete the Conference Carolinas weekend series sweep at Nixon Field.

Dylan Scaranda (Galloway, N.J.) broke a four-all tie with the game-winning run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh inning down the right field line - scoring sophomore outfielder
Carelle Gonzalez (Bridgeton, N.J.) - as the Bulldogs won their fourth straight game.
Chowan's Dallas Trevena (South Mills, N.C.) and Tyler West (Warsaw, Va.) both hit two-run home runs for the Hawks in the top of the third inning despite the loss.
Scaranda drove in two runs while sophomore shortstop
Andres Machado (Coral Gables, Fla.) scored three times and senior designated hitter
Colby Warren (Roanoke Rapids, N.C.) hit a solo home run to lead the Bulldogs offensively.

Michael Yuille (Boyds, Md.) (1-1) earned the win after finishing the contest with four scoreless innings of work to go along with four strikeouts for Barton. Chowan's Ben Bausas (Virginia Beach, Va.) (0-2) fell to 0-2 after suffering the loss in relief for the visitors.
Barton hits the road to take on Catawba on Wednesday afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m., in Salisbury, N.C., while Chowan takes on Frostburg State at Fleming Stadium in Wilson, N.C., on Friday, February 25.
