WILSON, N.C. – Barton (5-4-1, 5-2-1) and Lees-McRae (5-4-4, 4-2-2) battled to a one-all tie in a Conference Carolinas women's soccer match on Saturday afternoon at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.
Barton opened the scoring when freshman forward
Corinne Denham (Greenville, N.C.) received a pass from senior forward
Kassie Krul (Rockport, Maine) from the center of the field, beat the keeper to the outer left side of the box and found the back of the net just 6:21 into the contest.
Denham and Krul are tied for the team lead in goals scored with four while Denham scored in her third straight contest. Krul was credited with the assist.
Lees-McRae's Alexa Todd (Vero Beach, Fla.) headed the ball into the net off a cross from the left from Taylor Barrineau (Iron Station, N.C.) in the 31st minute to tie the score at one. Neither team scored the rest of the way.

Rachel Cox (Wilson, N.C.) registered a save while Lees-McRae's Mallory Roughton (Nashville, N.C.) tallied five stops in the tie.
Barton remains at home to take on Chowan on Tuesday night beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium while Lees-McRae hosts King on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
