DUE WEST, S.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (8-14, 7-8) made it four victories in a row with a 3-0 sweep of Erskine (7-20, 3-12) Friday evening in a Conference Carolinas match at the Galloway Center and Belk Arena.
The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-22 while hitting .302 for the match in the triumph.
Barton senior outside hitter
Allison Gambill (Taylorsville, N.C.) finished with a match-high 16 kills to go along with 12 digs for a double-double while sophomore setter
Hailey Strey (Cape Coral, Fla.) added 20 assists in the win.
Sophomore right side hitter
Lily Haaga (Herriman, Utah) totaled a dozen kills as well for the Bulldogs, whose win streak is the longest of the year.
Erskine, who hit just .194 for the match, was paced by Meredith Hollinger (Belton, S.C.) with eight kills and 12 digs in the losing effort.
Barton next travels to Franklin Springs, Ga., to take on Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon in league action beginning at 2:00 p.m., while Erskine hosts Chowan Saturday at 2:00 p.m., as well.
