WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (5-7-2, 5-5-2) fell to North Greenville (12-3-1, 11-1) by a 3-1 score on Senior Day in the regular season finale in Conference Carolinas action Saturday afternoon at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.
The Crusaders' Aleisha Lamb (Charlotte, N.C.) and Dani Avelar (Pearl, Miss.) both tallied a goal and an assist as the visitors clinched a share of the league regular season title with Mount Olive.
Lamb opened the scoring in the 37th minute when she found the back of the net in the box off a pass from the right side by Avelar, who was credited with the assist.

Corinne Denham (Greenville, N.C.) launched a shot from about 25 yards out off a breakaway at the 70:57 mark to cut the margin in half but Avelar put the contest away 10 minutes later with her third goal of the year. Lamb was credited with the assist.
Denham now has a team-tying six goals of the season while senior
Rachel Cox (Wilson, N.C.) suffered the loss in goal despite five saves. North Greenville's goalkeeper, Lizzy Luzzi (King, N.C.), earned the win after stopping three shots in making her first start of the season.
Barton, the seventh seed in the 2022 Conference Carolinas Championship, will travel to Franklin Springs, Ga., to take on sixth-seeded Emmanuel (8-8-1, 7-5) in the opening round of the tournament on Wednesday beginning at 7:00 p.m. North Greenville, as the top seed in the tournament, will not play again until Friday, November 4, in the semifinals at 11:00 a.m., at the Truist Soccer Complex at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, N.C.
