WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (5-14, 4-8) swept a Conference Carolinas doubleheader with a 3-0 sweep over Lees-McRae (6-19, 5-10) Friday evening at Wilson Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs downed the Bobcats by scores of 25-18, 25-19 and 26-24 to snap a four-match losing skid.
Barton was led by senior outside hitter
Allison Gambill (Taylorsville, N.C.) with a season-high 20 kills and hit .435 for the match while senior setter
Madison Greene (Angier, N.C.) and sophomore setter
Hailey Strey (Cape Coral, Fla.) added 21 and 17 assists, respectively, in the win.
Lees-McRae was paced by Sydney Stigler (Cincinnati, Ohio) with 13 kills but the Bobcats hit just .183 for the contest. Barton, on the other hand, tallied a .319 hitting percentage for the contest.
Barton remains at home to take on King (Tenn.) in a league match Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., while Lees-McRae travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to take on Chowan Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
