WILSON, N.C. – The Barton College Football Team (2-5, 1-4) suffered its fourth straight setback with a 34-0 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne (6-1, 5-0) Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference Piedmont Division contest at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore quarterback Sean White (Sarasota, Fla.) rushed for two scores and passed for another to go along with 247 yards through the air as the Bears, ranked No. 13 in NCAA Division II, won their fifth straight game.
Lenoir-Rhyne also held a 507-141 advantage in total yards on offense while handing the Bulldogs their first shutout since the program was reinstated a couple of years ago.
White opened the scoring with a one-yard rushing touchdown to cap off an eight-play, 80-yard drive early in the second quarter as the visitors broke a scoreless tie after one quarter of play with a 21-point second stanza.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore running back Dwayne McGee (Kissimmee, Fla.) and sophomore running back Zyheir Dillard (Winston-Salem, N.C.) added 112 and 104 yards on the ground, respectively, as both players crossed the century mark for the second straight week.

Dereck Barringer (Rockingham, N.C.) led the Bulldogs' defense with a game-high 10 tackles in the losing effort.
Barton looks to bounce back next Saturday on the road against Wingate beginning at 6:00 p.m., in Wingate, N.C., while Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to host Newberry next Saturday, October 22, at 2:00 p.m.
