WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (5-6-2, 4-3-2) scored early and often in taking care of Chowan (5-5-3, 5-2-2), 4-0, Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas showdown at Truist Stadium and Electric Supply Company Field.

Blake Grove (Newstead, AUSTRALIA) tallied a hat trick (three goals) including two scores in the first 10 minutes of action in the Bulldogs' rout of the Hawks.
Grove opened the scoring just 2:55 into the contest after finishing off a headed shot off a corner kick in the box. Grove then headed the ball himself into the net off a free kick from senior defender

Barton graduate student
Peer Brendler (Gifhorn, GERMANY) and Grove rounded out the scoring in the second half for Barton. Grove now has a team-leading seven goals on the year while freshman goalkeeper
Steingrimur Gunnarsson (Grenivek, ICELAND) picked up his second save of the season.
The Bulldogs also held a 21-3 edge in shots taken while Charlie Farrar (Wakefield, ENGLAND) suffered the loss in goal for the visitors. Farrar made three saves in the setback.
Barton hits the road to take on Emmanuel (Ga.) in a league contest Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., in Franklin Springs, Ga., while Chowan faces Lees-McRae on Saturday morning beginning at 11:00 a.m., in Banner Elk, N.C.
