PEMBROKE, N.C. – The Barton women's volleyball team (3-4, 0-2) suffered a 3-0 setback to UNC Pembroke (12-5, 5-0) Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas contest at Lumbee Guaranty Bank Court.
The Braves, who remained unbeaten in league play and atop the league standings in the East Division, won by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 20-19.
UNC Pembroke was led by Kaila Crowder (Chesterfield, Va.) with 11 kills and 10 digs as the Braves pushed their winning streak to eight matches. Morgan Gibbs (Dumfries, Va.) added 28 assists for UNC Pembroke, who limited Barton to a .078 hitting percentage in the victory.

Allison Gambill (Taylorsville, N.C.) with 11 kills and 19 digs in addition to four service aces for her second straight double-double while senior setter
Sarah Kirk (Pearland, Texas) added 19 assists in the losing effort.
Barton will look to bounce back on Friday when the Bulldogs host Belmont Abbey in a Conference Carolinas match at Wilson Gymnasium beginning at 6:00 p.m., while UNC Pembroke travels to Franklin Springs, Ga., to take on Emmanuel (Ga.) Friday at 7:00 p.m.
