WILSON, N.C. – The Barton men's soccer team (2-2) allowed a pair of scores late in the contest in a 2-1 setback to Lenoir-Rhyne (2-2) Wednesday evening at Electric Supply Company Field and Truist Stadium.
LR's Miguel Montano (Sevilla, SPAIN) tied the contest in the 66th minute when he headed in a free kick courtesy of Jamie de Manuel (Alicante, SPAIN) before Victor Cascon (Salamanca, SPAIN) scored the match-winner in the box at the 74:50 mark.
Barton's lone goal of the night came just 10 seconds into the contest from senior midfielder
Luis Hernandez Velasco (Guadarrama, SPAIN). Hernandez Velasco scored in the third straight match.
Lenoir-Rhyne held a 17-5 advantage in shots taken while Camden Coleman (Lynchburg, Va.) earned the win in goal for the Bears. Barton junior goalkeeper
Jacob Randolph (Metairie, La.) suffered the loss despite five saves in the match.
Barton travels to Central, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan in a Conference Carolinas match on Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:30 p.m., while Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Anderson, S.C., to play Anderson on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
