Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

UNC Pembroke women’s soccer proves too much for Barton, 4-0

WILSON, N.C. – The Barton women's soccer team (2-2-1, 1-1-1) suffered a 4-0 loss to UNC Pembroke (3-3, 3-0) Tuesday evening in a Conference Carolinas match at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex.

The Braves' Rilee Seering (Waxhaw, N.C.) scored a goal and added an assist as the Braves remained unbeaten in league play.

UNC Pembroke scored twice in each half and held a 27-7 advantage in shots taken.  The Braves' Ashleigh Harris (Oceanside, Calif.) opened the scoring in the 18th minute after finishing off a header from Nona Borden (Durham, N.C.), who was credited with the assist, and the visitors never looked back.

In goal, Chiara Coppin (Monroe, N.C.) earned the shutout victory after stopping a pair of shots for the Braves while Barton senior goalkeeper Kristin Davis (Willow Spring, N.C.) suffered the loss despite totaling seven saves on the evening.

Barton looks to bounce back on Saturday when the Bulldogs travel to Central, S.C., to take on Southern Wesleyan in a league contest beginning at 1:00 p.m., while UNC Pembroke hosts North Greenville on Saturday at Noon as well.
