FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Barton women's volleyball team (3-2) splits its last two matches Saturday at the Nova Southeastern Invitational at Rick Case Arena, defeating Dominican (N.Y.) by a 3-0 score before falling to the host school Nova Southeastern, 3-0.

The Bulldogs swept the Chargers by scores of 25-8, 25-14 and 25-15 and were led by junior outside hitter
Allison Gambill (Taylorsville, N.C.), who tallied a match-high 16 kills in the contest.

Caroline Schoonover (Lutz, Fla.) added six kills as Barton limited Dominican to a 0.011 hitting percentage in the win.
Dominican's Kaitlyn Carr (Rogers, Ark.) finished with a team-high eight kills but the Chargers proved no match for the Bulldogs. Barton also totaled nine service aces in the triumph.

The Sharks, the host school in the tournament, stayed unbeaten on the season and won their 13th straight match after sweeping the Bulldogs by scores of 25-12, 25-12 and 25-10. Nova Southeastern has the nation's current longest winning streak and the program's longest streak since 1995.
Nova Southeastern was led by Elizabeth Price (Tampa, Fla.) with 11 kills and Madison Cook (Oviedo, Fla.) added 18 assists in the victory. Schoonover finished with six kills but the Bulldogs were limited to a negative 0.058 hitting percentage.
Barton next competes against Francis Marion in the Conference Carolinas opener on Wednesday, September 22, at home beginning at 6:00 p.m.
